Michael B. Miller

Michael Miller was called to the Ontario Bar in 1974 after graduating from Osgoode Hall Law School. He later earned a Master of Education in Applied Psychology from the University of Toronto (1990) and, in 2000, a Master of Law Degree in Alternative Dispute Resolution from Osgoode Hall. Michael maintains an active practice as a Chartered Mediator (C. Med) and serves as a designated Roster Mediator for the Province of Ontario. He is a senior partner at M.B. Miller Law in Toronto, where his work focuses on commercial litigation and mediation. His areas of expertise include the assessment of legal bills, breach of contract, shareholders’ rights, injunctions, and investor disputes. Over the course of his career, he has represented financial institutions, national corporations, regional businesses, entrepreneurs, and investor groups. Michael is also the founder of FeeSimple Canada LTD., a private corporation dedicated to legal fee auditing, best billing practices, and the assessment of legal accounts. Through FeeSimple, he works both with law firms facing assessments and with clients who believe they have been unfairly billed. Outside of his professional life, Michael and his wife, Ellen, live in Toronto. Together, they enjoy time with their four children and ten grandchildren.
